Your Help is Needed

I am asking you to volunteer your gift of writing copy for the nonprofit I am forming. This is a team effort!

I have a young man, who will volunteer to create the website. I also need help writing the information required for the nonprofit status.

Let's work together to help seniors serve on projects, such as making hats for the homeless and to help others and to provide purpose in their lives.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

I am not one to play games or take quizzes on Facebook. However, I was intrigued by "Find out what the mirror has to say about you!" If the Queen in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" can ask the Mirror, "Magic Mirror, on the wall, who, now, is the fairest one of all?"  I am taking the plunge with a single click?

I was delighted with the response: "A new job will open up a new, promising path in life for you." How did this mirror come to this realization? This is better that the bag of fortune cookies I ate in one sitting without the caloric intake.

I repeated the clicking on the mirror with the same response. This must be true.  I changed my profile picture and received a different response: "You were made to celebrate great success in your life!"
It is unbelievable. The response is correct, again. This is better than the Magic 8 Ball that previously sat on my desk until a resident decided to play catch with it. (I bet the Magic 8 Ball did not predict the fatal occurrence: "Splat." It was like when Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall.)

With all kidding aside, I am reaching out to hiring managers, HR professionals and recruiters in my network. I would like to talk with you and understand how my skills are transferrable on a new, promising path.
I only celebrate success through the help of others.

Let's talk today!

Inspiration in a Frame

Inspiration(n): 2. A person or thing that moves the intellect or emotions or prompts action or invention.
The above definition of inspiration from "The Free Dictionary" brings forth the name of Lillian Grisso, who was my Great, Great Aunt. She was a missionary in India and an author.

My Great Grandma Pearl (Grisso) Figert told my Great Aunt ReBerta that I reminded her of Aunt Lillian. Grandma Figert parted with the photo when I said that I would frame it. I framed this photograph in the late 80's. She has had a place of honor on my desk since.

I am now in search of her books and writings because I would like to learn more about the woman, who served others.

I found the blow writing in "Fifty Years in India, 1895-1945:
"When Wilbur Stover planted the banyan tree in the front yard of the first mission house at Bulsar, India, he said, 'I like a banyan tree. It's the symbol of the church.'
...The banyan is called the ;tree with a thousand trunks. The great number of shoots sent  down from the branches become additional trunks. A large tree will cover a great area. The largest banyan in India has a main trunk thirteen feet in diameter. It has two hundred thirty other trunks as large as oak trees and over three thousand smaller ones. At one time nine thousand people stood in the shade of it…"

I equate this banyan tree to senior living industry because the industry continues to grow and serve others by branching out.
I also personally believe the banyan tree is symbolic of life. Where are you rooted? And how have you branched out?

The photograph of my Great, Great Aunt Lillian Grisso in the frame continues to inspire.

A True "Men"tor: Eugene Parker

His treasures are in heaven. A good man from my hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who shared a piece of heaven with all he met.
I loved watching him play basketball. I encourage you to read Deion Sanders' words below. Once person can touch a life.
Sanders posted on Instagram today:
"EUGENE PARKER was the best human being I've ever met! Almost 30 years ago I met this young aspiring African American attorney/football agent trying to secure my services out of FSU. He had on a cheap polyester suit, wing tip shoes and he was articulate, efficient and confident. He didn't offer me a dime or tried to secure my talent with women, jewelry or payments to my mother or family members he was honest and all he needed was a chance. He didn't represent anybody on his own but he spoke with knowledge & a certainty that he could deliver. I've NEVER heard him cuss, show anger, bad mouth another, cheat on his wife or neglect his kids. Eugene was a man. I'm crying writing this!!!!!!!!! He taught me manhood without doing it intentionally and he taught me about the Lord without judging me. We've never had a disagreement nor did I ever have to tell him what to shoot for contract wise. We had true chemistry, love, respect and admiration. He did EVERY DEAL I HAD. We took the game on and off the field to another level and we couldn't have done it without 1 another. Eugene wasn't a black agent he was the best and most trusted agent in the business. My God I've lost so much in 1 man. I never question God but I did ask why Eugene Lord. I pray all of you stop taking today and people for granted because tomorrow ain't promised. He presented me at the @nfl ‪#‎HOF‬ and watch me mature from boy to man. Please Give someone a chance that may not look the part you never know it may be the next EUGENE PARKER. I LOVED THIS MAN 2 LIFE! The bible declares 1 who has friends must 1st show themself friendly & there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. ‪#‎TRUTH‬"

A"N"xiety? Pray.

I loved that the "N" was backwards on this sign last evening. Life is filled with backwardness and imperfections. Don't become a"N"xious over them.

Since I do not claim to understand their denomination, I picked up some of the church’s literature because fear breeds anxiety. Learn commonalities, not differences.
