Pamela
Rose Williams wrote in her article, Bible Verses About Joy: 20 Uplifting
Scripture Quotes, “Joy reminds me of a song from my
childhood –♪♫♪ I’ve got that
joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart … ♪♫♫. Once that song gets
into your heart you will be singing it all day! True joy can only be attained
as part of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal
5:22). It is that overwhelming sense of comfort and contentment that
floods one’s soul.”
My
daily work concluded early afternoon a few Tuesdays ago. My car was parked along the
street in front of the Frye Art Museum. The museum was still opened. I walked
in. Instead of viewing the display, I entered the gift store. I found two
shelves with wind-up tin toys like my Grandmother had in her the old, musty
upstairs of her farmhouse. I wound the toys up one by one and watched them travel across
their respective shelf. I was
mesmerized. I was joyful.
I was drawn to sit by the water that runs outside of the museum as I exited. I reflected on my quietness as a child, depending on my younger sister and the neighbor kids to talk for me. My shyness spoke volumes.

My
sister grabbed my hand and escorted me to the 5-Day Bible Club across the street
neighbor’s basement. I loved when we sang, “I've
got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.”
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down
in my heart
Where?
Down
in my heart!
Where?
Down
in my heart!
I've
got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Down
in my heart to stay
How do you live your childhood joy? A
childhood joy usually finds me each day.
Find your joy…Live your joy…Be your joy…
